Does Princeton have a juvenile curfew law?

Yes. Section 46, Article II of the City of Princeton Code of Ordinances establishes a curfew for any person under the age of 17. Curfew hours are:

  • Monday through Friday
    9:00 am until 2:30 pm
  • Monday through Thursday
    11 pm to 6 am the following day
  • Saturday and Sunday
    12:01 am until 6 am the following day

Offenses include:

  • A minor (any person under 17 years of age) commits an offense if he or she knowingly remains in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the city during curfew hours.
  • A parent or guardian of a minor commits an offense if he or she knowingly permits, or by insufficient control allows the minor to remain in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the city during curfew hours.
  • The owner, operator, or any employee of an establishment commits an offense if he or she knowingly allows a minor to remain upon the premises of the establishment during curfew hours.
