Since the 2020 U.S. Census, our population has experienced a large growth rate that continues to escalate. As one of the cities in the fastest-growing county in Texas, Princeton has opened opportunities for retail and commercial growth. The City has become a popular target for planned residential development in the eastern part of Collin County. The City of Princeton is a "Home Rule" municipality. The City prepares a budget based on a fiscal year starting on October 1st and ending on September 30th each year. Princeton operates under a City Council/City Manager form of government and provides traditional municipal and public enterprise services. Vision To continue to be a family-friendly community and foster a diverse economic base while maintaining the small-town feel.
