Princeton, Texas: On Saturday, May 21, 2022, City of Princeton Public Works Department is hosting an Open House Event to celebrate Public Works Week at the Public Works Building from 1:00am – 2:00pm at 255 E. Monte Carlo Blvd., Princeton, TX
Enjoy free food and an opportunity to explore the City of Princeton Public Works trucks and machinery. This will be a free fun filled day for the community.
National Public Works Week is observed during the third full week of May to recognize the importance of public works. This year, it takes place from May 15 to 21.
The “Ready & Resilient” theme highlights the ability of these professionals to perform regular public works duties and be ready at a moment’s notice to react as first responders during natural disasters and overcome trials seen in the field.
“Public works superheroes help keep communities strong by providing an infrastructure of services in transportation, water, wastewater and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. They are what make communities great places to live and work,” stated by The American Public Works Association (APWA).
