City Manager Derek Borg Resigns, City Council Appoints Lesia Gronemeier as Interim City Manager

Princeton, Texas: On Friday, October 20, 2023, City Manager Derek Borg tendered his resignation at the October 20th Special City Council meeting. The City Council unanimously voted to appoint Assistant City Manager Lesia Gronemeier as the interim City Manager, effective immediately.

The decision to appoint Lesia Gronemeier as the interim City Manager is rooted in her proven track record and her ability to ensure a smooth transition during this period of change. Her extensive experience, comprehensive knowledge of the city's affairs, and dedication to public service make her well-suited for this critical role.

Mayor Chacon stated, "We have the utmost confidence in Lesia's abilities and are certain that she will provide steadfast leadership during this transitional period. Her expertise and dedication to Princeton make her the perfect candidate to take on this responsibility."
