Under the direction of the Police Chief, Professional Standards' purpose is to conduct thorough and objective administrative investigations as assigned by the Police Chief. Professional Standards:
Recruits quality applicants for employment within the Department
Conducts thorough background investigations
Protects the public from employee misconduct
Protects employees from false allegations of misconduct
Identifies faulty policies and procedures that might otherwise go undetected
Professional Standards also monitors training and makes recommendations as needed.
