Professional Standards

Under the direction of the Police Chief, Professional Standards' purpose is to conduct thorough and objective administrative investigations as assigned by the Police Chief. Professional Standards:

  • Recruits quality applicants for employment within the Department
  • Conducts thorough background investigations
  • Protects the public from employee misconduct
  • Protects employees from false allegations of misconduct
  • Identifies faulty policies and procedures that might otherwise go undetected

Professional Standards also monitors training and makes recommendations as needed.
