Love Walked In
-Marisa De Los Santos
Eerie Indiana
-tv series 1991-1992
Turnabout
- Margaret P. Haddix
(from the back) Clare Hobbs - eleven years old and abandoned by her erratic mother - goes looking for her lost father. She crosses paths with Cornelia while meeting him at the cafe [where she works], and the two form an improbable firendship...

"A bewitching, warmhearted grown-up fairy tale about old movies, charming princes, and finding happily ever after in the place you'd least expect it." -Jennifer Weiner, author of In Her Shoes, and Little Earthquakes.
We have the whole series, on 5 disks, and it's a 2-week check-out. The small town of Eerie, Indiana (Pop. 16,661) "is the center of weirdness for the universe". It's like the X-Files for kids where each episode, Marshall and his friend Simon collect evidence about the creepy things that happen there. A lot of humor, and some touching moments scattered among the strange, tense, and sometimes scary stories. (from the back) In the year 2000 Melly and Anny Beth were old and ready to die. But when offered the chance to be young again by participating in a top-secret experiment called Project Turnabout, they agreed. But when the injections that were supposed to stop the unaging process turned out to be deadly, [they] decided to run for their lives...

Harry Dresden Files
-Jim Butcher
Barbara Sher's Idea Party The LOCAL WIZARD
This is Harry Potter for Grown-ups. A modern-day wizard, whose job is more like that of a private detective, battles evil while trying not to get his butt kicked too badly. Lots of sarcasm; solid plot lines; a little romance; mystery; suspense; and horror. (from the back) A new public television program by nationally-recognized counselor, therapist and life coach Barbara Sher. "I intend to rescue as many geniuses as I can before I die. Geniuses always have dreams, because they have creative minds and they want to use their talents. And I know how to make any dream come true. And I'm going to teach you how to do that." Diane Duane's series, which began as a trilogy (Support Your Local Wizard), was written in 1983, well before Harry Potter, and is entirely American. Duane wrote for television as well as books, starting with Hanna-Barbera (Cartoon Network) and later doing scripts with her husband for Batman: the animated series and Gargoyles. Her Local Wizard series (also called Young Wizards) depicts themes of religion and redemption, and are for ages 11 and up.
