We can always use some help at the library. Patronage has doubled in the last 6 months and our daily circulation has tripled. This is a good thing - it means we're growing - which means we'll eventually get a bigger budget, we'll get a larger collection for you all to choose from, we'll get more people wanting library cards, and soon we'll need a bigger building! It also means that the Librarian could spend every day, all day, putting books back on the shelf and checking them out. But she's also supposed to help people figure out the computer, un-jam the printer, fax things, buy new books, make new library cards, answer the phone, apply for grants, fill out state and county forms, order supplies, help people find just the right book, re-fill the toilet paper, remind people they've got overdue items, and clean DVD's...
Hopefully by the summer, check-out will be automated (instead of hand-written) and our catalog will be online (and much faster than the one we have now), so that will help. But if anyone would like to put books back on the shelf and knows the alphabet we'd love to have you. NOTE: Any work you do will be recorded and can be used as a future job reference. Just stop on by!
