How do I take care of a ticket?
The Municipal Court, located inside of the Princeton City Hall, will handle any type of process relating to citations issued by the Princeton Police Department. You may contact them by calling 972-736-2548 during normal business hours. The address is 306 Main Street, Princeton, Texas 75407.
How do I report a crime?
If there is an emergency, call 9-1-1. For non-emergency service, please call the Princeton Police Department at 972-736-3901 during normal business hours, or the Collin County Sheriff’s Department at 972-736-3555 after normal business hours, over the weekend or during holidays.
Where do I renew my driver’s license?
Please contact the Texas Department of Public Safety for information on driver’s licenses or identification cards issuances or renewals. The DPS website is http://www.txdps.state.tx.us
Do I need an alarm permit?
Both residential alarms and businesses with alarms are required to have a permit through the City of Princeton. Applications may be picked up at City Hall during normal business hours.
Where do I go to get an Accident Report or Offense Report?
You must fill out an Open Records Request Form at City Hall in order to obtain a copy of a report through the Police Department. Your request will be processed within ten (10) days of receiving the request. A nominal fee is charged for copies of reports.
Does Princeton have a juvenile curfew law?
Yes. Section 46, Article II of the City of Princeton Code of Ordinances establishes a curfew for any person under the age of 17. Curfew hours are from 11:00 p.m. on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 6:00 a.m. the following day and from 12:01 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on any Saturday or Sunday.
- A minor (any person under 17 years of age) commits an offense if he or she knowingly remains in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the city during curfew hours.
- A parent or guardian of a minor commits an offense if he or she knowingly permits, or by insufficient control allows the minor to remain in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the city during curfew hours.
- The owner, operator or any employee of an establishment commits an offense if he or she knowingly allows a minor to remain upon the premises of the establishment during curfew hours.
