Parks and Recreation
The City of Princeton has two parks, the Veterans Memorial Park in front of Princeton City Hall, and The WWII POW (Baseball) Park on the end of College Street. Both parks are a result of WWII; The (Baseball) park was first a migratory labor camp, and later converted to a POW camp to meet the demands of wartime. Our Veterans Park has undergone a beautiful reconditioning which is a great place for weddings, picnics, and other similar activities. The gazebo can be reserved at Princeton City hall, or by calling (972-736-2416. The ball park ( POW ) has two pavilions that can be reserved at Princeton City Hall or by calling (972) 736-2416. The ballpark also is a great place just to go take a stroll along the creek or watch the kids play around at the playground. There are four baseball style playing fields at the park and also a basketball court, so stop by and enjoy the facilities.
Also in the area is Lake Lavon, which is a great place to fish, water ski, or just picnic at. There is several boat launching facilities just minutes from down town, which opens the doors to a world of outdoor enjoyment for families to be apart of. On the outskirts of town are the Sister Grove biking/hiking trails that offer even the most seasoned enthusiasts days to remember. The surrounding county roads offer great evening drives with breath taking views of wildlife, creeks, and shaded paths to the next adventure just up the road.
