Welcome to Princeton Development Services Department

STAGE 1 MILD WATER SHORTAGE CONDITION

During the weekend of July 19-20 the City experienced a severe decline in elevated storage capacity.  Through the good efforts of the City’s Public Works Department and the City’s consulting engineers, this situation has been resolved to the point that the prohibition on outside watering has been lifted.

However, the City of Princeton is currently experiencing very heavy water usage.  In addition, the period from July 1 through mid-September is historically a period in which little rainfall occurs and temperatures range between 80 –105 degrees F.  Long range forecasts for the next three months are for normal to above normal temperatures and drier than normal conditions.

Therefore, the City is requesting that all customers voluntarily conserve water by not irrigating landscapes during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. watering during daylight hours.  For further information on this issue, please see the “Administrator’s Update” on the City’s website.

The City will be monitoring water usage and storage capacities very closely over the next several weeks.  If conditions deteriorate, the City will institute mandatory water use restrictions.  Changes in water use conditions will be announced on the City’s website and in local print and broadcast media.  Your assistance in our water conservation efforts will benefit our entire community.
